What Others Say…

When Charles Clayton was teaching at a four day event for nearly 50 NGO leaders in Central Asia, he commented: ”It was an inspiring experience for me to be among such dynamic young leaders, some of them working in extraordinarily difficult conditions.” And here’s what they said:

“It was a very productive meeting for me” said a participant.  ”An opportunity to think”… “Inspiration”… “amazing”… “wonderful teaching”… “very practical” were among the comments from many others. They engaged Charles in conversations at every opportunity including most breaks and meal times, and this meant about 14 hours’ work every day in teaching and coaching throughout the event.

“Every day I also learned something new about leadership,” he commented. “The time just flew by because every meeting was so interesting and these exceptional leaders were eager to develop. I take my hat off to them.”

We have coached and mentored a number of senior NGO leaders in the last few months. Of course we do not publish details of these relationships, but here with permission is an example of the feedback:

“Working with Charles was truly a life-changing experience, and I don’t say that lightly. He saw qualities in me that I did not see or believe in myself, and gave me the confidence to discover them for myself. His constant encouragement, sincerity, wisdom, experience and personal commitment moved me towards a totally different place where I could step forward, with confidence and humility, to undertake leadership in a way I never dared imagine I could”. (The author is leading an organisation which works in 60 countries.)
