Oscar Lyons

After studying medicine at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, Oscar worked in a rural NZ hospital before taking up an Education Fellowship in Surgery in a large teaching hospital in Auckland. In 2016 he was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to study a DPhil in Healthcare Leadership Development at Oxford University.


In 2017 Oscar set up the Oxford Emerging Leaders Programme, which is now in its third year. He has since designed, delivered and facilitated courses for Oxford degrees, certificates and colleges; NHS trusts, summer schools, leadership development consultancies, and research centres.


Oscar’s research focuses on improving evaluation of leadership development into clinical practice.
